Daddy Shark

How has it only been a week since Thanksgiving break ended? It feels like an eternity! Luckily I survived last week - finished and presented my final project for my building systems class.  Me and my partner ran into a lot of snags along the way, and I pulled a pretty hectic all-nighter the night before, but we finished, and I gotta say, it looked fucking badass.  We made an office building in San Francisco that was 150% self sufficient and ran on solar power and biomass energy harvested from a giant algae tank facade that covered the building.  Honestly it looked kind of like a weird ass UFO from some sic-fi movie, but I was pretty attached to it. Thank god it's over though! One down. Last week I also somehow managed to take my last two tests in Japanese. Now all I have in one last presentation tomorrow, and I'm done with that class for the semester! Wooohoooo
---------------------
Lol so I never finished this blog post, and now I'm coming back to it! It's now been two weeks since Thanksgiving break, and it feels like two eternities! (Ha see what I did there?)

Today was a pretty hectic day. Actually this whole week has been pretty busy scrambling around from practice to
----------------------
Well, I fell asleep attempting to write that last one.
----------------------
Lol screw it I'm just gonna post this thing.

Colorful stalls/graffiti wall/awesome building in New York! Also the inside of a gap fitting room since I thought it looked cool lol
I call this piece "Friends with Food".  As you can see, I tried to explore the relationship between my friends and my food, utilizing different techniques such as foreground, background, and focus.
Lol my dad is a shark...also he can levitate mini beach balls with a blow dryer. Crazy.
Obligatory food collage. Happy Waitress from the diner, bellobello panini from Rebecca's, omelette+sriracha via dining hall, kick ass food from Xi'an Famous Foods (downtown Manhattan), home-cooked goodness, quality ramen, more dining hall food, and FOOD TRUCK EGGPLANT MMM.

Recharge

Currently sitting on the couch wrapped up in a warm blanket while watching pokemon with my sister.  It feels so good to be home! When I got home on wednesday, I gotta admit I spent a while just sitting in my room looking around and taking it all in. Showering in my shower, sleeping in my bed, and eating my mom's cooking - it feels like it's been forever even though it's been only 3 months!
Minion snapchat, welcome home roses & tea! - rainbow unicorn craft-time with kaykay, early premier of CATCHING FIRE which was absolutely fantastic. Might've made me into a bit of a peeta fan-girl, ATS care package from Minerva! - lunch with Jenn at Flour, packet of milk tea mmmm, sitting on the train home while eating my first falafel! When my bus got to new york, I had an hour before I had to catch a train, so I went outside of the station and ventured to one of those middle eastern food carts.  The guy in front of me asked if I had change for a 20- which caused me to realize I didn't even have enough cash for a meal. He was surprised I didn't know they only dealt in cash, but instead of letting me go find food somewhere else, he insisted to pay for my falafel wrap! To top it off, the vendor didn't know the other guy gave me money and offered to make my food for free. It sounds cheesy, but I was so overcome by their kindness.
I didn't know NYC people could be so nice :)
Pesto/mozzarella/pepper/spinach salad from Flour, quality pre-catching fire snacks provided by the one and only Micky D's, grilled chicken pesto panini from late night cafe (with a guest appearance by fanta), FALAFEL, salad and quesadillas from dining
Celebrating Eunice's 20th! Holy crap I'm gonna be 20 in only a few months. Casino night at ADP - We didn't play casino games but I did make $9 playing pool….;) on the T with Eunice en route to Catching Fire! Gorgeous yogurt cake that honestly just tasted like cheesecake. Minerva's extremely malleable face.
HOME. Spent a good hour playing that game but still couldn't win :( also went to annual Thanksgiving football game!  I'm sad to say that the marching band this year was actually kind of weak, but it was still nice to see some familiar faces. I can't believe that my old little freshmen bass drummers are graduating this year! They grow up so fast :') lol.
First lunch home! Tofu wanzi and baked yams :) Awesome (asian) thanksgiving feast at a family friend's house. Eunice's fruit tart, and some ballin' margarita pizza at Bertucci's after missing my bus home and waiting for the next.

Pear Man

Whew what a weird week. The days all blurred together, mostly because my time perception got completely thrown off from sleeping at random intervals throughout the day, everyday. What is night? What is day? Who knows.  Last friday I slept from 8 am - 3 pm. Which surprisingly is pretty good in regards to the number of hours I got, but when I woke up at 3 and looked at the clock, I felt like a piece of shit. By the time I had finished showering and getting ready to go to a meeting, the sun had already set. Quite depressing really. But on the bright side (or dark side? ha. haha.) I got some pretty damn good free sushi at said meeting. Later that night I went with Skyler and Kevin to a pool bar which was pretty chill. We sat around joking around about we should play some random dudes for money….too bad none of us have the balls (or the skills) for that. After we got back I watched some quality Korra, and then read shitty vampire manga until 6 am…why. Why did I do that.

This week is looking pretty bad work wise, but there's also a lot of things I'm looking forward to! Going to a premier of Catching Fire on thursday and a dance show/competition on Friday. Should be good.

Also check out the joint [food blog] that I write with my friends. It was inactive for months, but Big Tom recently revived it, and now I get to blog about all my food twice lol. WOOOOOOO

Random window view while studying. Cool bubble installation I stumbled upon. Pepero from Dabin on Pepero Day! FREE SUSHI. Trying to be G. Quite embarrassing. Playing pool on a Friday night.
My project from last week! We got to 3D print our models :) cute huh? Actually, this stupid little thing was the biggest pain in my ass for 3 days straight. Nothing was going right, and I was ready to hurl my laptop against a wall. But somehow it all worked out in the end. Thank god.
Tofu ramen and more eggplant from the food truck! A weird garlic/vegetable omelette with mango salsa which was pretty interesting to say the least. It almost tasted like throw up actually…but it was pretty enough to take a picture. Last but not least, a close up of dat free sushi. It was my first time trying eel, and I gotta say I enjoyed it immensely

Spinach Dip Heaven

Ah currently kicking back to some Coldplay and enjoying an extremely chill sunday post brunch-in-my-bed moment. Raspberries, bread, spinach dip, and a glass of cold OJ - all while surrounded by warm blankets and pillows - is this heaven?  I love long weekends.  As sad as it sounds, it's extremely refreshing to be able to finally let loose on a Sunday.  I mean, Sundays are technically supposed to be a day of rest, no? But usually I spend the whole day stressing out and desperately trying to finish my seemingly never ending workload.  Not that this weekend is actually any different - I've got a pile of work that I've pushed to the side in my attempt to pretend that I actually have time to kick back and relax. Come to think of it, I've practically been doing this all weekend…

It all started on Thursday.  After classes ended, I lined up at the food truck in anticipation of another delicious eggplant meal.  When I pulled out my meal rewards card, to my surprise, I had enough stamps for a FREE meal. And so I claimed my prize with a big (possibly disturbing) smile, and biked back to my dorm where I enjoyed a very asian lunch, complete with green tea (okay arizona's not that asian) and a good drama. When my roommate got back from class, she joined me, and somehow we ended up watching over 4 hours…while we were watching though, I managed to finish my scarf that I've been working on since sophomore year of high school! That's a FIFTH of my life spent on one scarf…lol jk i'm not that slow, but it's true that I started it 4 years ago. Later that night I went to a study break event where they were serving fancy desserts.  I had planned to stay out for an hour at most, but somehow didn't get back until 3 hours later.  Damn.

On Friday I went to a nice cafe that I've been wanting to try out for a while with Eunice for lunch! Had a pretty good grilled portobello panini with pesto, tomato, and mozzarella, but unfortunately was still a bit hungry so I made myself a large mug of tea when I got back to my room. I actually attempted to do some work (go me!!!) but then gave up and took a nap instead. Played some pool and ate dinner with Minerva before bundling up and heading to the supermarket(!!!!!!!). In case you can't tell, I love grocery shopping, especially with friends!  Lately a group of us has been looking into some apartments around the area hopefully in preparation for next fall. I can't wait for us all to cook/eat together, and of course, go weekly grocery shopping! Ah, what a dream to have. Anyway, after the supermarket, I cut Minerva's bangs for her, skyped with Courtney who I haven't talked to in forever, and then screwed around until 5 am before deciding to bike back to my dorm. Wow really letting myself go.

Saturday was no better in terms of productivity. I woke up just in time for brunch, ate, showered, and  thought about doing work but didn't actually do it.  Then I went to a dance workshop which I was hesitant to go to by myself, but actually had a blast and got to learn a pretty sick routine. When I got back, somehow me and my roommate got into a two hour talk about all the awkward tension between us for the past month or so.  At first the conversation was pretty tense, but by the end I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my chest.  I think we understand each other a lot better now, and I was really happy that we were able to have that conversation! I've always thought it's sad when roommates choose to ignore each other and lead completely separate lives even when they live and sleep in the same room.  We were pretty close to that, but I'm glad we did something about it. Anyway, for dinner I went out with a group of people who were very intent on taking my "pho virginity". AKA they were horrified I hadn't eaten pho before and took me out to have my first bowl of heavenly Vietnamese soup noodles.  I gotta say, was not disappointed in the slightest! Pretty damn good and would definitely go out again for them.  After eating a huge bowl, I somehow still craved delicious asian beverages so we made a pit stop at Juice Bar where I got a hot cup of Thai milk tea with lychee jelly. A godsend to say the least. When I got back, my roommate and I marathon-ed the five latest episodes of Korra.  The animation and art were beautiful! My roommate could barely keep her emotions in check lol. After that, I went partying with Jenn and her brother who was visiting. I like talking to clever people with a quick wit, and I'd say he fit in that category. I got back to my room around 4 am, got ready for bed, and slept like a rock until almost 2 pm today.

Aka I had a pretty fantastic weekend so far. Lately I've realized that my guilt for not doing work has been growing weaker and weaker, and I'm not sure whether that's something I should be concerned about or not...
My second architecture studio project! Plaster model, wax model, rubber mold, and the two halves of my 3D print. I also had a 5 foot tall presentation poster with all my diagrams/drawings but forgot to take a picture of it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Now onto the third and final project….
More fun times with friends :) Grocery shopping, eating pho, partying, being a walrus, walking outside, and making embarrassing poses in studio.
Awesome Ender's Game hack in lobby 7,  unproductive working conditions, my glorious food truck reward card, 4 year scarf, terrifying snap chat I got from weiwei, and a cool art project labeled "tech giants" that I stumbled upon in the student center!
Beautiful beautiful food.  (Free) eggplant + drama + green tea combo, delicious panini from Flour, PHO, and a box of bread I took from dining hall + some spinach dip I bought during my grocery shopping adventure. I ate 10/12 servings in two days..I feel disgusting.

Laundry Days and Quandary Days

Well, it's 6 am but for some nonsensical reason, I'm blogging anyway! Yeah that's dedication right? Aka I haven't blogged for a month now…

This past month has pretty much been a blur since it passed so quickly! It was really busy and quite stressful, but I think I managed to not let it get to me that much. Either that or maybe I've just stopped caring… lol jk, but in all seriousness it's a bit depressing how much this place beats you down. It makes you feel overwhelmed and incompetent, dumb even, when many of the people here are anything but. It instills self-doubt, self-loathing, and insecurity even in the people whom we think look so put together and in-control on the outside.

On a brighter note, today I met with the program director for…MIT Japan! I'm applying for an architecture internship in Japan this summer which I really hope comes through! The guy I talked to reminded me a lot of my old high school Japanese teacher in the way he speaks, but perhaps mostly because they're both white dudes who love Japan. He randomly started talking about this industry in China called the "Gutter Oil" industry and showed me a [video] which made me think back on all the times I ate delicious fried street food in china. Literally ate shit. T_T

On an even brighter note, the sun has officially risen and it's light outside (see what I did there?) That's my cue to go to sleep. Enjoy the pictures, and I'll blog again soon! Goooood night :)
Late night shopping on Newbury Street! We came across a piano from the "play me I'm yours" project on which we struggled to play any song we could remember…aka a few measures of like three songs. Went out with Jenn for some Telonius Monkfish for our girl date ;). Posing with TIM (the beaver) during Spooky Skate. Being straight up G with Randi before an ADT performance. Kevin sandwiched between the top of my closet and the wall. Don't ask.
Bad ass architecture installments made by the grad students for the graduate open house!
Parents weekend!! It was really nice and refreshing to see my family :)
All the delicious food I've been spoiling myself with! Been going out to eat more often this semester, and I love it! Gahh can't wait to get off meal plan so I can do it all the time.  Btw that pink cauliflower was a dorm event for breast cancer awareness. I didn't eat it, but I included it since it was so amusing. Also, I've been eating way too much eggplant from the asian food truck lately….BUT I CANT STOP, ITS SO GODDAMN DELICIOUS. O _ O
Another NOT ART sighting. I love these, for no particular reason except that they amuse me quite a bit. Baker piano drop! They loaded a piano with $500 worth of candy (not sure if they were exaggerating or not..) and pushed it off the top of the dorm. I stole that photo from my awesome photographer friend who montaged three different moments in the piano's fall (yeah, they didn't push off three pianos). Right two photos are from Nightmarket! It's an event held by all of the asian culture groups on campus and it's basically a night of performances, food, and activities.  Check out the sick henna I got!

Flareon Burns

Oh man, the weather today is absolutely gorgeous.  Currently lying on the quad, soaking in the sun and sipping some (free) tai bubble tea. Aka it's a good day.  I'm so relaxed, in fact, that I'm coexisting quite well with the bees buzzing around my head.  That puts me practically on the same level as Snow White, although I doubt I can get the bees to help me clean my dorm.  Okay, so maybe it has absolutely no connection to Snow White, but hopefully you got the point. If there was one.
--------------------
Currently procrastinating on retrieving my clothes from the dryer (yes I'm that person) and laughing at the post above that I wrote last week and forgot to publish. It's hilarious how shitty my sense of humor is. Seriously.

Anyway, between my last post and this one I had my first review in studio! It was so stressful the weekend before, but in the end I made something I'm very happy with. Wouldn't have been able to do it without my friends helping me out of the Pit of Despair AKA Java. Besides for that, I played some IM badminton, partied a little, and caught up with a few people I hadn't seen in ages, all while procrastinating the shit out of my work and consistently riding the struggle bus. Regardless, I'm feeling pretty good albeit slightly sleep-deprived. Today I planned on getting back from class and hibernating, but for some unknown reason a burst of energy hit me as soon as classes ended…so instead I ate lunch with people, then came back and blasted music as I did laundry, cleaned and decorated the room, and updated my portfolio. Now I'm even blogging.  This level of productivity is unheard of - it's actually quite disgusting how much I've accomplished in the time I usually just sleep.
Da Institvte. Fun times with friends!  Eating from the food truck while sitting on a pillar that I had a lot of trouble getting off. At a house-warming party where we watched three hours of pokemon while sipping evie-evolution-themed drinks. Lol so classy. Went on a 5 mile run (I was dying after 5- how do people run 26 mile marathons?) with weiwei and snapped a pic of the sunset on the Charles along the way!

Rainbow Buildings and Black Webs

Currently sipping a mug of honey-saturated tea and kicking back to some Imagine Dragons.  Aka feeling pretty damn good.  Earlier today I was being a real downer - and after classes were over, I sat down for about four hours straight and slapped my feelings onto a large piece of paper. Afterwards I dragged my lazy ass out the door for a jog in the gorgeous weather. Man those endorphins are really amazing. I got back to my dorm in much higher spirits and actually liked the "piece-of-shit" that I made today.  I noticed that lately my emotions fluctuate a lot.  I let little things get to me and it's almost like I enjoy wallowing in unjustified feelings of self-pity.  I realize that happiness isn't something that's just going to fall into my lap - it's a day-to-day journey and a mindset.  So I am going to try harder to be happy and not dwell on what-ifs all the time.  I know my recent posts seem pretty confusing and jumbled up, but blogging it out is my way of sorting my thoughts, so please bear with me! ^^
That upper left corner was pretty fun to make - I colored pieces of grey paper, wrote out my negative thoughts and then ripped them up, collaged them together, and overlaid marker and pastels. The rest was just extremely random.  The foot being Exhibit A.
Watching sail boats and canoes from the dock. Biking at night. Minerva's terrifying array of free shirts from career fair. The most amazing chocolate covered pretzels (I devoured that bag in practically one go).  Weiwei snapchatted me a picture of him with the Snapchat team (sooo meta). Fruit-by-the-foot tongue….brick wall with random extrusions. Hugging "Eunice Da Dawg". Delicious study break @_@

Floating Boats and Floating Thoughts

Hmm, you might be wondering why I'm posting again, only 24 hours after my last post. Today was kind of weird for me emotionally, so I thought I'd take some time and blog about it while waiting for the sun to rise (but really, I hope I'll be asleep before that happens).  After classes ended, I took a 4 hour nap sleep and then went jogging with Eunice since it was such a beautiful day out.  I think practically all of Cambridge agreed, since the streets were packed with joggers and bikers, and the Charles was filled with boats!  We sat on the dock for a bit and somehow ended up learning how to play hackysack from this awesome black dude with dreadlocks.
Today I also found out that the guy I liked from last year recently got a girlfriend. At first I was only slightly surprised.  But after a while I felt really weird about it. He was the one who told me that he didn't want a relationship since he wasn't completely over his last girlfriend, and that he needed time to think about us.  Seeing him in a relationship makes me sad - not because I wish it were me in her place, but because it makes me doubt myself.  It makes me wonder why he was so unsure about me. It makes me think back on my past and how I always turned people down or backed out of relationships before they could start. I kept a distance because I was scared to take that first step and afraid of getting hurt or ruining a friendship.  I took a chance on our friendship last year, granted I fucked it up pretty badly and got hurt in the process, but somehow am proud of myself for going through with it.  A friend drunk texted me recently telling me to "regret the things you've done, not the things you haven't" and I think he really has a point there.  Strangely enough, I'm also happy for him.  I'm happy that he was able to settle into a relationship after being disillusioned by his last two, and at the same time I'm also jealous of him.  Today I started reading 40 Days of Dating, an experiment between two friends - one who is always looking for a serious relationship, and one who is scared of commitment. At one point, it said "When you meet the right person, it all just clicks. Everything feels easy, and you just "know"" If that's what he's experiencing right now, then yes I admit I'm quite jealous. But who knows, maybe it'll happen to me too one of these days :)
Talking over pizza at 4am is always a solution

Sunny

Well, I have to wake up in less than five hours for class, but somehow I find myself typing up this blog even though all my face wants to do right now is make contact with my pillow.

Yesterday the weather was absolutely gorgeous.  It was sunny and bright, but also had that crisp-fall-feeling. I wore my comfy ripped boyfriend jeans and sat outside the student center, basking in the sunshine while happily eating an Asian pastry and smiling like an idiot. I even went for a jog across the river with weiwei which was really relaxing (and physically impossible at the same time considering the terrible shape i'm in.) Then once I got back to my dorm, I was greeted with the magical arrival of new cuesticks! We played a few rounds to break them in, and it was evident how much of a difference an intact cue makes lol.

Today I went to this thing called "Japanese Lunch Table" for the first time.  It's a weekly gathering of a bunch of japanese speakers in the boston area and we basically eat lunch and talk with them for two hours. I was painfully awkward at first, but eventually eased into conversation with a man from Osaka.  He had a lot of questions, and we had a pretty good talk.  At one point we were discussing how Japanese people are comfortable with being completely naked with other people (communal open showers). Quality content right there. But yeah, holding a conversation with native speakers is a pretty great feeling; it's kind of hard to explain.  I'm definitely going to make an effort to go from now on and hopefully get better!

Now it's time for me to pass out.  Actually, I already passed out and am struggling to stay conscious and finish this post. Goooood Nii--

ahaha I'm so funny.

but it's not far from reality.

-_- z...Zz….zZ...z
noms in the sun, my fabulous post-shower roomie, climbed onto his dresser to get something from a box, laughing her ass off uncontrollably on the table post-energy drink, sitting on the dock looking back at Cambridge!

Ups and Downs

Yay, as promised, I am actually blogging about the past week! So last weekend was actually pretty fun - I had auditions for ADT, DT, and Mocha - ultimately didn't get into DT or Mocha, but learning the choreo was a good time and I'll get in next semester >:D. Last weekend I also went out for sum dim sum (see what I did there? oho) with Matt! Ate some delicious food and wandered around boston for a bit. The beginning of the week was honestly pretty bad.  I felt sluggish and absolutely lost in all of my classes. It's so easy to feel inferior in this place and I have to remember to not let it get to me. :\ But after wednesday, things started looking up (mostly since I was done with studio for the week lol).  On thursday students from Tokyo University came to visit my japanese class!  After class, one of them asked me to take him to get Mexican food so a whole group of us went to grab some Beantown and checked out the MIT Museum afterwards.  I really enjoyed talking to them, but it was also very tiring to struggle with Japanese for 3 hours straight xD.  Before we split, Yuki thanked me and said if I ever needed help with Japanese homework, I could ask him. So nice @_@ Anyway, yesterday was a really chill day - classes ended early and I went back to sleep lol. In the afternoon I went with Randi to go get my bike fixed - and the guy at the shop literally did it for free! He was so nice :'D That night we watched the premier of korra!  But the stupid TV DIDNT HAVE CABLE, so we ended up missing the first half while frantically looking for a live stream online. Lol if you read my last blog post, you probably already know what I did after korra.  We went to our friend's frat and hung out, drank (flaming shots holy shit), played pool/set/taboo, sang karaoke, and chatted.  Before we knew it, it was 4 am. I was actually surprised at how quickly the time passed! And I was also pleasantly surprised at how happy I was feeling.  I'm determined to stay more positive this semester, wish me luck :)
THEY ARE SO GOOD. Also, the drummer was ridiculous. And see those giant balloons? I managed to catch one….but then after a few minutes it popped T_T
Dim sum/wandering around boston/MIT Museum! (there was an exhibit about condoms…)
Eating dinner with my awesome pseudo-hippie roommate! Looking out over Lobby 10 late at night. A weird baby-machine at the MIT Museum. KORRA PREMIER. Happy times with friends ^^

Flaming Shots

Hmm so I thought it'd be fun to try and blog while i'm drunk, but sadly i was too slow, and I think i'm pretty much sober now. Shame. Anyway, starting from where I left off last time….FALL OUT BOY WAS AMAZING.  After nearly busting a kidney from trying to find transportation to the concert, we managed to walk 2 miles and borrow a car. I drove us to the stadium just in time for Fall Out Boy to go on. (We missed Panic! and some other band, but oh well) When they started their first song I nearly cried from happiness…. It's sad because I'm not even exaggerating. Hearing all their songs live was fucking incredible. @__@ I don't even know what else to say right now. Shit it was awesome. Okay maybe I'm not actually sober right now; I keep wanting to face-plant on the keyboard and go to sleep. Actually, screw this I'm going to sleep ^^ I'll actually blog tomorrow about the past week! Goooooood nightttt~

I Am A Walrus

Oh wow it's been quite some time since I last posted. A lot has happened since then! I enjoyed another month and a half of work hanging out with friends/family, watched a number of terribad movies (which include the Love Guru, GI Joe, Recall, and LOL (starring the one and only Miley Cyrus)), went to the beach (and didn't get sunburned!), took a trip into the city, ate some delicious chicken curry katsu, went to a couple of asian parties, started and finished watching Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood in 4 days (64 episodes….), watched the Korean drama I Hear Your Voice which was pretty amazing (I recommend it to anyone who has a few days to waste), bought a tablet (<3 wacom intuos5), packed up my life, and moved back to Boston.  Since then I've performed a few times with ADT, went to a DT workshop, helped out a bit with rush week, caught up with friends, met new people, and played a little too much pool. Classes also started two days ago! So far I've been late to almost every single class….I really need to get my shit together.  Also in a few hours I will be leaving for…. A FALL OUT BOY CONCERT. HA I'm so excited! When they announced that they were going on tour, I decided I'd finally go see them before they could break up again lol. So yeah, that's the last two months of my life poorly summarized in one paragraph.

Wedding card I made for my neighbor (who's getting married on a mountain in colorado!) Random drawing I never finished. Congratulation-cards for some family friends. And a shot of my colorful art supplies :)
Went out for some sushi buffet to celebrate Gabriel's 20th! Also some random shots from the beach, city-bound train, and bananagrams. Nolan somehow managed to buckle himself into my 5-year-old sister's car seat….
FOOD! Eggplant, roasted red pepper, tomato, and muenster cheese on fried bread.  Greek yogurt with fresh peaches, blueberries, walnuts and dried cranberries. Lunch with my mom :) Sushi buffet!!!<3<3<3 and of course, the best for last, chicken katsu curry.
Ed came to visit! For lunch I cooked some (too) spicy eggplant and fried mantou. Also, Nicole moved! That's me and her cat reunited at her new house. Also I'm not sure if my friends are turning 20 or 5.
Giant tower someone built out of little wooden blocks! (it spanned two floors) Kaykay at the creek <3 The pennies my coworker left on my desk everyday. All my stuff packed and ready to go! Pool halls, lol. Brian taught me how to actually play minesweeper and I won my first game ever. Eunice brought back this weird pop-rocks-chocolate…that actually kind of hurt to eat, but tasted so good.  Last but not least, my disgusting-wendy's-infested cubicle.  Good times.

HULK SMASH

So I had a pretty relaxing, and surprisingly productive weekend ^^ Normally I don't wake up until noon, and even then, I spend at least an hour rolling around doing nothing before dragging myself out of bed and into the shower. BUT this weekend I woke up early both days. Saturday for grocery shopping, and today to make breakfast for everyone (my parents were trying to figure out who's birthday it was, or whether they had forgotten about mother's day or something. Jokesters.) I also turned a free-career-fair-tee into a Hulk-muscle-tank. Maybe it will inspire me to work out.  Which reminds me, I finally did some physical exercise for the first time in 2 months and may or may not have pulled a muscle lifting 2-pound weights…..

Yesterday I also played some League of Legends with Thomas.  Man, I swore I would never play that game, but there I was, hunched over my computer, madly clicking away. At first I was kind of confused as to why people enjoy playing, but then I finally killed the ass hole who kept killing me…. :)

Today was a pretty average day at work.  Had the genius idea to listen to Asian dramas (下一站, 幸福) while working, which made it go much faster. Sad part is that it almost made me cry in the office…actually it was more bordering on pathetic. We also tried this deli place for the first time. IT WAS AWESOME. Definitely deserved their 4.5 star rating on yelp. I was so caught up in the whirlwind of activity that I completely forgot to take a picture. Oh well, next time for sure.

Nap time ^^
Mmmm crafted with such artistry! Too bad only one omelette turned out actually looking like an omelette.
THOSE VEINS.
Lol can't wait to wear this thing

Gold Rain

Do you think it's normal for someone to take so many pictures? This is probably less than a 10th of the pictures I've taken over these past two weeks. It's such a pain in the ass to sort through them that I almost miss the days before I had a smart phone….but then again, what a horrifying thought. Anyway, enjoy the giant bulk of pictures. Naturally they are accompanied by short essay descriptions.
Completed my very first commission! My commissioner was very happy with it = happy sonya. Damn what a huge milestone, I can barely contain my feelings. My dad pointed out that I probably got paid about $1 an hour for this thing but I don't even care >:D
First two pics are from a two hour lunch break we took the other day lol. Felt pretty bad, but the food was so worth it. First Wendy's frosty! Second row is from my weekend boston trip. Mmm Wagamama's so goooood (asian fusion). Went halvsies with Nolan on King's sandwiches. $4 cheesesteak meal at this pool/arcade place. Freaking delicious burger - Our boss decided to take all the interns out to lunch! They bought us food, and then basically paid us for 2 hours of work to sit there and eat it. I'm sorry for all the times I've complained about my job xD
After a grueling bus ride (seriously HOW was there traffic at midnight on a THURSDAY??) finally arrived at Boston! Lol check out my very attractive friends. Also matt was very pleased with his newly purchased Gap pants. Not sure if you can tell or not. We grabbed lunch at Rebecca's Cafe, a place that he's been raving about since forever (a must-read) and gotta say I was extremely satisfied with the Bello Bello and my Honest Tea.  Honestly.
Four moments where an ungodly artsy urge took over my body and before I knew it, I had snapped these babies.  I call the first one, Bricks and Feet: The struggle between everyday existence. You can catch it at my next exhibit in downtown manhattan. Okay I don't know where I'm going with this, so I'll just stop. Took it while we were walking from the Prudential (after the gap pants). Second is taken at Boston Public Gardens (I think) Third is from underneath a cell tower.  We took a field trip there for work the other day, and holy jesus we were baking underneath that thing. Nevertheless, a pretty cool pic. Lastly we've got a small sample of the amazing fireworks I saw last week. We were so close, that when they exploded, it just filled up the whole sky. Literally gold raining down on us - prettttty amazing.
Woohooo the beginning of a three day birthday spectacular. Lol my roommate was finally turning 18! Did a shit ton of shopping, eating, sweating, pool, video games, (alotalotalot of walking) and some karaoke. Had a good time ^^ We also watched Wreck It Ralph at this amphitheater-type stage in Boston. (also in case you're wondering, most of that tip was paid in dollar-coins. We're not thhaat cheap)
Last day in the city! mmm bubble tea. mmm muscular-tanned-50-year-old man. What a boss drawing on the sidewalk and puffing on a cigarette. After eating at Taiwan Cafe in Chinatown, we did some sight seeing! Boston is so beautiful - it's kind of sad how we've never really explored the city we practically live in. Definitely something I'm going to make an effort to do this year!
Had some jam time with Shalom. Victor being classy, as usual. Went to an arcade/pool hall, ate our $4 cheesesteak meals, had a good time. Man I wish our town had a place like that. Actually I just wish I had friends with pool tables lol. Speaking of which, my friend asked me to be a rush girl for his frat, and at first I was a little iffy since I'm kind of awkward and not very outgoing at all, but then he mentioned that I could just play pool all day. Sold. Lol so easily bought. Maybe by the end of rush, I'll be a pool shark. Ha, here's to hoping.
Hmm…I'm supposed to wake up early to run and then go grocery shopping…. I don't think I believe in myself enough to make that happen. Hehe, we'll see. Gooooood night ^^

The Sun Always Rises

Currently listening to my dad and sister argue in the back seat over whether she has ever pooped her pants. Lol. She's vehemently denying it while my dad's trying to convince her that she did when she was younger.  I realize this is a pretty weird way to start a new post, especially after not blogging for a month and a half. But I could honestly think of no better way. Anyway, I spent that non-blogging-time taking a shit-ton of pictures, so here they are in all their glory with outrageously long captions.
After a delicious (and geniusly constructed) breakfast (carrot and broccoli omelet) we headed to the Crayola Factory to celebrate father's day! I actually had a blast making markers/crayons/puzzles and coloring in coloring pages lol. Not sure who was having more fun, my sister or me hahaha
Moooorree family time….at Sesame Place! Fell in love with Cookie Monster. Is that weird?
I eat delicious food. :)
Recently got commissioned for the first time! Worked on it while marathoning Marvel movies. I think I watched Thor, Captain America, Iron Man 2 & 3, The Incredible Hulk, and the Avengers over the span of two days lol. What has my life come to? Also I stumbled across an amazing portrait artist recently and was inspired to try my own. So I creeped through Facebook and ended up drawing courtney :)
MORE FOOD.  Fried rice and tea with Emma. Quality Five Guys with Nicole and Brian (he eats peanuts with the shell on) The rest is from family vacation to Williamsburg and Myrtle Beach :)
Random pictures! Hit the beach and encountered the biggest pizza I have ever had the pleasure of eating.  Lunch break from work (that place is eating me alive). Watched Nic Cage simultaneously on three laptops, but the movie speed was slightly different on all three so we kept having to sync them up. Also my sister is a fairy princess.
Busch Gardens and Water Country USA! Man I love culture-themed amusement parks (like Epcot). Also, I finally triumphed over my fear/inability to use tampons. You see that victorious smile on my face? Sorry if this is tmi, but hey, it was an important milestone in my life.
Colonial Williamsburg! Watching the fifes and drums was pretty awesome. Also got to see all the trade shops like the weaver's, silversmith, seamstress, etc.  Best part might've been sitting next to a pile of horse poop in 90 degree heat while listening to a reenactment of the Declaration of Independence. Not.
Myrtle Beach! Sand castles and sand-faces.  Catching fish with a dinky little net (I CAUGHT THREE!!) Watching Fireworks with the family. My first german dining experience. And a broken glass (lol i thought it was artsy) We also binged on Friends every night. Probably watched 20 episodes.  Don't even get me started on Spongebob. D: My sister is addicted to television.
Got dragged out of bed at 5:30  to watch the sunrise. Gotta admit, the suffering was definitely worth it. The sun reflecting off the clouds and water was absolutely breathtaking. Lol check me out raising the sun.
Exploring the boardwalk! Mega candy store… They had candy bras, handcuffs, and g-strings lol. Went to the "Gay Dolphin" and actually found my name on a little license plate! I was so blown away that I bought it immediately. Who knows what I'm gonna do with a little piece of plastic, but it was too rare of an opportunity to pass up. We also went to this really cute tiki bar and my mom got this amazing spicy schnitzel sandwich.
Last two days! Saw an amazing show at the Alabama Theater. It was one of those compilation shows that span over a bunch of different music and dance genres (mainly focusing on country and soul, but hey it's the south what do you expect) Also check out my parents lol. Best part is that I told them which holes to go to, without them knowing that they were gender-bending. My mom was horrified when she saw the pictures. We left early the next day during a torrential downpour. I guess Myrtle beach was sad to see us go :( We were sad too, so we ate away our feelings with some quality McDonalds.
WOOO finally done. I will post soon about last weekend's adventures in Boston! But for now, bed time ^^ Hopefully 4 hours is enough to last me through work tomorrow. Lol who am I kidding. I'll probably face plant on my desk….again. -_-
